Job description:

Oracle DBA Permanent Dublin €60K+

Vantage Resources are seeking an experienced Oracle DBA for a high profile financial services client based in Dublin.

Your role will involve working as part of the system administration team supporting the production and development environments. As the development cycle is at a very active stage your strong release and scripting skills will be highly regarded.

As part of this team you will be required to:

Provide day-to-day DBA support for Oracle 9i and 10g databases
Maintain and document code control
Automate tasks
Develop and document operational procedures
Provide first and second level support to end users

Ideally you will have the following experience

Knowledge of database migration, scripting and backup procedures for Oracle / Solaris servers
Strong Unix shell scripting
Knowledge of Oracle advanced replication and Oracle data guard
Site monitoring and performance measuring tools
Database administration on MS SQL and Sybase

In this role you will be exposed to a large variety of systems and databases. The organization will also be rolling out Oracle 11i in early 2009 and the incumbent will be involved in project work relating to this rollout. Extensive training is also provided.
