Health & Safety

  • Drive the development, maintenance and review of the site Health and Safety Program to ensure that it meets legislative, corporate and industry requirements.
  • Perform regular H&S self-assessment audits within facility and grounds.
  • Co-ordinate & perform area and task risk assessments regularly to ensure all Health & Safety hazards are identified and controlled.
  • Review, evaluate and revise company operations, program documentation, plans, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety & environmental laws, regulations and standards adopted by the HSA, EU, Fire and Building Codes, and other regulatory authorities and standards development organizations
  • Perform inspections and evaluate company operations and documentation for safety and environmental compliance.
  • Work with all departments to develop and implement corrective measures as required, and track compliance with corrective actions and overall regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in and provide guidance to the site Health & Safety committee
  • Lead the accident/incident investigation process and follow up of action items.
  • Implement, maintain and update Health and Safety Statements.
  • Review requirements for development of safe working procedures and practices.
  • Actively promote and increase awareness of Health and Safety work practices on site.
  • Complete weekly/monthly reporting as per site and corporate requirements
  • Conduct in-house Health & Safety Induction for all employees
  • Track, identify and record any relevant Health and Safety training requirements and ensure delivery to relevant personnel
  • Manage sub-contractor activities on site to ensure 'permit to work'& method statements etc. are met in conjunction with Facilities Manager
  • Environmental
  • Develop, implement and maintain Environmental policies and procedures in accordance with sound engineering principles, government laws, regulations, corporate and other applicable guidelines.
  • Perform regular compliance evaluations to ensure compliance with environmental permits, plans, policies, legislative and other regulations.
  • Responsible for overall regulatory environmental compliance for company's operations.
  • Control and maintenance of ISO14001 accreditation
  • Responsible for the Environmental Audit schedule internally and at relevant subcontractors
  • Administer compliance tracking programs and record keeping systems.
  • Ensure any Environmental training requirements are identified & carried out.
  • Initiate & measure waste reduction programs

The successful candidate will have a recognised Health & Safety qualification and ideally will have at least 4-5 years industry experience in a similar role implementing safety and environmental programs in a manufacturing or other industrial setting. Candidates should have a proven track record in an Environmental Health & Safety capacity within a large organisation.
