Job description: A Manufacturing copmpany based in Galway are currently looking for a Manufacturing Engineer.

Position Summary:
Achieve exceptional cost reduction results through leading cost down initiatives within the plant. Strong project planning and time management skills, with the ability to balance present demands against long-range business objectives. Meets stretch deadlines and objectives on an ongoing basis, by removing roadblocks and utilizing all available resources.

Responsibilities Include:
Lead cost reduction initiatives within the plant to improve the cost competetivness of the manufacturing facility.
Co-ordinate the implementation of new product and processes into the plant, and implement major engineering changes into the manufacturing processes for existing product.
Map out future engineering value-adding developments and initiatives using 6 Sigma methodologies that will sustain and promote the competitive edge of our manufacturing facility.
Provide the engineering support to lean manufacturing programmes, i.e. through process improvements, automation, product re-engineering and cost improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

A degree in Engineering (production, mechanical, manufacturing, industrial) with a minimum of 5 years experience in a world class manufacturing environment, preferably in an automotive/cost competitive environment
