Category Manager / Services Procurement
A leading Telecoms company based in south Dublin has a vacancy for a Category Manager to manage a range of categories within Services Procurement
Role:
To deliver value generation for all our stakeholders (customers, suppliers and shareholders) by sourcing the right products and services, of the best quality and price, at the most appropriate time.
Responsibilities:
• Negotiation of Contracts and Service Level Agreements with new and existing vendors for products and services.
• Ensure customer service levels are met through effective performance against monthly KPI targets.
• Work with your functional stakeholders, Hub and Global colleagues to initiate and implement cost saving programs.
• Detailed understanding of spend in responsible category.
• Optimise supplier base to deliver cost effective and quality goods or service.
• Participate in functional budget preparations and review sessions to ensure that SCM objectives are aligned.
• Pro-actively manage supplier performance evaluation, identify corrective actions to achieve standards and targets. Ensure local and global evaluations are aligned.
• Analysis of market trends including research for all key products / services, ensuring up to date information is always available.
• Promote the implementation and adoption of E Procurement for all new business opportunities.
• Deliver SCM performance and KPI reports to agreed targets and timeline.
Requirements:
§ 5 years plus services and goods purchasing experience with direct responsibility for contract negotiation in a Global Supply Chain environment.
§ APICs/IIPMM qualified or Business/Technical degree graduate.
§§ Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
§§ A self-starter with high levels of self motivation, energy and initiative
§§ Knowledge of modern supply chain systems including SAP, e-procurement, Spend and contract management.
§ Clear understanding of budgeting / forecasting and the effects of cost savings
