Job description: quality control group leader Reporting to the Quality Control Manager Responsibilities include: · Lead the laboratories towards attainment of FDA accreditation and maintain compliance on an ongoing basis to all relevant standards. · Manage all aspects of raw material, bulk and finished product/stability analytical testing in the relevant laboratories (chemistry and microbiology). · Manage all aspects of packaging components and testing, and the QC Inspection of filling & packaging lines. · Manage the out of specification process; authorisation of procedures and related documentation, review, investigation and reporting of results. · Carry out tasks/responsibilities to the highest standards ensuring compliance with all regulatory and internal requirements · Implement and monitor initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the Quality Control services and delivery. · Maintain positive relationships within Quality Control; between functions; and with all other external customers. · Prepare the department capital budget and manage the expense budgets ensuring the department is run in a cost effective manner. · Develop and retain a high quality workforce in a fair manner, in line with the organisation strategy. The successful candidate will: · Have a 3rd level qualification to minimum honours degree level in a relevant chemistry discipline. · Have at least 5 years experience at a management level in an FDA pharmaceutical environment. · Have a good understanding of the relationship between quality and production and be capable of achieving results whilst remaining compliant with relevant GMP regulations. · Be proactive in the design and implementation of initiatives for continuous improvement in Laboratory/QC efficiencies. · Have potential for development and progression into a broader technical role. · Have a proven track record in project management. · Have experience of working to deadlines and budgets and working effectively in a pressurised environment.
