Summary:
The Software Engineer (Web), as a part of the Online Engineering team, is responsible for developing robust and highly scalable web services and associated tools for our web and mobile games.
Responsibilities:
· Develope highly scalable and robust web based game services for our flash games hosted on Facebook.com, or for our iOS and Android games.
· Design, develop, test, maintain and/or contribute to PHP based modular framework being used for developing the services.
· Prototype, develop, test and maintain tools and applications to aid and access the game services.
· Analyze technical requirements for periodic project cycles and implement code accordingly.
· Evaluate and learn about external tools, technologies, SOA and other services to keep self updated as well as for possible internal integrating.
· Conduct review of code, specifications, project plans and processes with team members.
Required Skills/Personal Requirements:
· 5+ years in professional software developement
· Expertise in PHP, including extensive use of OOP and unit testing frameworks
· Proficiency in database design and development in MySQL, MongoDB
· Experience with Front End Web Development technologies such as Javascript, AJAX, CSS and JQuery
· Experience with Facebook PHP APIs is highly desirable
· Experience with cloud computing platforms and technologies is highly desirable.
· Familiarity with Python and Ruby is a plus
· Familiarity with Apache and Unix/Linux
· Strong written and verbal skills
· Ability to work effectively with remote teams and with minimum supervision
Education and/or Certifications:
· Degree in Science or Engineering and/or any related field preferred but not required
