A new and challenging role has arisen in a city centre Quantity Surveying Practice.

This highly successful practice has been in operation for the past 25 years.

Due to continued growth and restructuring there is a vacancy for a Cost Accountant.

Your role will be to maximise the profitability for future and current projects using well developed cost accounting principles.

Cost/Management Accountant

Reporting to: the Operations Manager.

Job role;

-Applying principles of cost accounting to conduct studies which provide detailed cost information not supplied by current systems.

-Introduce budgets and financial reporting procedures for all projects.

-Create and implement a project register.

-Monitor and report on the key project steps, timelines, outputs and quality metrics across the project life cycles.

-Report on the performance of project teams.

-Prepare Monthly Reporting Package for the management team.

-Invoice customers against project millstones in a timely manner.

-Create computer-based models to improve project financial, time and resource planning.

-Carrying out other ad-hoc duties that are relevant to the role.

Qualifications;

-A qualified Management Accountant with 1-2 years post qualification experience (ACMA/ACCA/ACA), ideally in a professional services environment.

-Excellent IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Suite, project management and accounting software.

-Excellent analytical and administrative skills

-experience in budgeting and financial administration

-Experience of professional services/construction sector while not necessary will be a distinct advantage.

-Capable of amending/developing & documenting policies & procedures to meet change in business.

-A commercially aware pro-active problem solver with excellent communication

& interpersonal skills.
