Job description:  At Oak Recruitment our client is looking to recruit an Industrial Engineer.

Duties of the job but not limited to:

• To provide manufacturing with accurate standard time and ensure that production processes are efficient.
• Development and ongoing analysis of factory, line and workplace layouts to ensure maximum efficiency, ergonomics and material handling.
• Definition of work methods which will ensure continuous process improvements.
• Time studies and SAP work plans database maintenance.
• Effective project leadership of cost reduction and/or line optimisation projects.
• Industrial engineering support for new production introduction process.
• Capacity analysis.
• Manufacturing cost analysis, involving the co-ordination and verifying of all technical data required from the engineering functions, to ensure that an accurate and comprehensive cost analysis can be complete at initial design concept, through to cost analysis at each design phase , up to and inclusive of volume manufacturing to ensure live product costing at all times.

Education level required:
Degree in Industrial, Production, Process or Manufacturing Engineering.

Experience:
Minimum of three years industrial engineering experience in a volume production environment, with a requirement to have experience of ergonomics, workplace design, capacity planning, manufacturing cost analysis, plant layouts and cost reduction projects. Experience in an electronic manufacturing industry and/or experience in green belt or black belt six-sigma would be beneficial.

Knowledge and Special Skills:
Knowledge of methods and time study systems together with team leadership skills are essential. A good working knowledge of Microsoft excel and access is required. Experience in manufacturing cost calculations or gross margin improvement projects together with line simulation experience would be beneficial.
