Company Info:
This organisation works with a team approach to the screening of women including mammography, diagnosis and treatment. It works in partnership with other healthcare providers. This organisation values the contribution and skill of its staff; it provides continuous training and development for staff and upgrading of equipment required in a screening program. This is a very rewarding role for a person who has a passion to work in a caring environment.
Duties
•Produce consistently high quality mammography images consistent with optimal client care and safety, and working within established guidelines.
•Minimise the radiation dose to each client. Adhere to the Ionising Radiation Regulations and ensure doses “as low as reasonably achievable” (ALARA)
•To have the commitment and active involvement in the protocols of this organisation, including daily and weekly tests, trouble shooting and taking appropriate remedial action.
-Respect and due care for each client
-full explanation of the procedure and informed signed consent
-recognition and respect for withdrawal of consent to proceed
-optimise standards of privacy, comfort and hygiene
-record appropriate clinical and other details of the examination, including use of the IT system
-Participation in assessment sessions; commitment to inter-disciplinary and multi- disciplinary case conference and review; participate in training and further education and individual appraisal.
•Radiographers will promote a message of a caring, friendly and professional client-centred service. For the majority of women attending for breast screening their main contact with the service will be with a radiographer, who will therefore play a central role in the woman's perception of the screening service.
•Radiographers rotate between Screening and Mobile units and between screening and assessment duties. All film reading, recall and further assessment will take place at the Screening Unit.
•Radiographers will be required to allow some flexibility in the working day to allow for:
-journey time to and from mobile units
-extended opening hours
-clinic overruns
