Job description:

Web Infrastructure Design Consultant, Dublin, 8mth contract, Public Sector
 
Our Large Government Sector client require a Web Hosting / Infrastructure Design Specialist to review the current data centre infrastructure and implement new design.

This role will see you analyse the existing infrastructure and requirements and design an appropriate web-hosting infrastructure for the Departments needs.

Ideal Candidates will have:
~4 years experience in an extensive web-hosting environment, with at least 3 years working in a senior network role.
~Cisco or security qualification or Microsoft MCSE, preferably with IIS qualifications.
~Extensive Microsoft Windows (2000/2003) experience in a hosting environment, covering such areas as Active Directory, Group Policy, IIS, .NET, clustering & load balancing.
~Extensive knowledge of firewalls, ideally Checkpoint NGX.
~Good knowledge of Cisco routing, switching & firewalling technologies,
~Extensive knowledge of SAN operations and of monitoring & management tools, ideally MS MOM & MS SMS.
~LAN/WAN, Design / Implementation / troubleshooting skills to high levels.
~Excellent understanding of TCP/IP Protocol & applications as well as operational and design knowledge of Routing Protocols.
~Excellent level of VPN and IPSec skills, including design/ troubleshooting/ implementation, especially with Cisco products.
~Good knowledge of security for both Layer 2 and Layer 3 systems, including threat mitigation techniques, threat detection and analysis etc.
~Ability to Configure, Install, Test and Document network installations.
~Be familiar with securing network devices by performing security audits on routers, switches, firewalls etc.
~Familiarity with networking trends and current network products and solutions.
~Excellent communication skills both verbal & written. Ability to present solutions to people.
~Ability to work within a team and take responsibility for different issues / tasks etc.
~Ability to prepare Project documentation and project plans including any relevant testing procedures etc.
