.NET developer required for a 6 month contract based in Dublin city centre
Application Development Duties
• Ensure that new systems are designed with robust architectures based on NT's published standards
• Ensure that new systems are built in a bullet proof way that best ensures that functional requirements are met whilst also ensuring that service qualities (Performance, scalability, extensibility) for the present and for the future are achievable
• Deliver end products that have zero impact to the end user and to other WWT applications or streams
• Present new designs to the technical committee and liaise with members of this committee
• Be cognisant of the existing legacy architectures, systems and processes in place
• To ensure the Application Systems Manager is at all times aware of issues and progress
• Ensures all design and development is agreed within NT technical committees, and follows NT SDLC and design concepts
Secondary Duties:
• Proactively manage the production of install plans that include but are not limited to affiliate planning, contingency, and production support
• Ensuring all production changes are correctly prioritised, developed, and tested before release into production
• Follow all install and firecall procedures as laid out by the NT WWT install procedure standards and Enterprise Application Solutions management
• Follow corporate guidelines as it pertains to diversity. Be an advocate for diversity, promoting a diverse work environment that leverages off individual strengths. Look for opportunities to encourage diversity in the team
• Follow corporate guidelines as outlined in the employee handbook, memos sent by NT and WWT management, and HR
SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
• Languages: C#.NET, ASP, XML
• Databases: Experience with Oracle is ideal, (SQL Server experience is less of an advantage)
• Operating systems: Exposure to a variety of systems is preferable but not essential, (Windows Server, Unix etc)
• Excellent communicator both verbally and written
• Practical and open minded, able to use own and commercial judgement to balance process against delivery
• 3-5 years of development in the financial services industry
• Microsoft product expertise is key, in the following applications: Project, Excel, Word, Visio and Powerpoint
• Analysis, documentation and implementation of critical business solutions, utilizing many technologies, over tight business-defined time-scales
• Knowledge of business processes, usually acquired through related work experience, is required to review development and to support applications
• Top quality analytical and problem solving skills
• Experience of vendor relationships and the management of such
• A proactive and 'can do' attitude is required at all times
