Systems Engineer for the Vision Technology Group

In partnership with its client, Kenny-Whelan is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to work for their client in the Co. Galway area.

Systems Requirements Management:

  • Review of Customer Requirements and subsequent translation into internal Systems Requirements Specification for P1, P2 and RFQ projects
  • Coordinate with the Hardware, Mechanical, Software and Test engineers to ensure full implementation and traceability of requirements relating to the Vision Technology & Expertise Group
  • Coordinate with Vision Technology and Expertise Group function experts to complete conformity matrices relating to customer requirements documents

Systems Architecture Design/DFMEA:

  • Generate, maintain & take ownership of Vision FMEAs for all projects
  • Liaise with system test engineer to ensure traceability from integration test cases to the unique System Architecture requirements for all VTEG related requirements
  • Ensure all VTEG relevant systems work products are baselined & managed through the Configuration Management & Change Control processes.
  • Carry out all work to comply with Quality Management System
  • Participate in Project Teams and report on VTEG relevant System Development activities as appropriate
  • Generate & maintain PDCA/FTA documentation on VTEG related issues
  • Complete scheduled tasks within assigned projects relating to DFMEA & associated documentation to deliver outputs to the project team as per agreed Timing Plan
  • Work closely with VTEG function owners and system test engineers to generate & maintain Acceptance Test Plans
  • Participate in design reviews where appropriate

Other Duties:
  • Develop relationships with the relevant Systems architects at our OEM customers with a view to influencing, or responding to, their needs
  • Assist Business Dev. Dept with Feasibility Studies and support RFQ activities as required, including customer and internal requirements review
  • Participate in Technology / Supplier / Tool Selection etc. for new development
  • Keep up to date with new standards and general market information in the Industry
  • Work innovatively and creatively within the group with a particular focus on protecting innovation and IP through the patent process

Skills, Abilities and Education:

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics or equivalent
  • Systems engineering or electronic product development experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Automotive experience an advantage
  • Experience in Imaging & Optics an advantage
  • Familiarity with automotive OEMs procedures and documents an advantage
