Process Engineer - Solid Dosage - Wicklow

Reporting to the Process Manager, the role will involve the optimisation of solid dose process equipment with emphasis on efficiencies, trouble shooting and improving the uptime and quality outputs of the processing areas. He/She will take ownership of, and will drive, continuous improvement initiatives within the Processing area.

The role will focus on the maximisation of equipment uptime in the processing areas, particularly in relation to technical breakdown and control systems malfunctions. It will concentrate on identification of key issues and analysis of cause and provide appropriate improvement intervention and corrective actions in conjunction with key maintenance and systems personnel.

Equipment optimisation in efficiencies and losses areas will be a key aspect to the role with special emphasis on the system controls of the equipment involved.

The role will work to assist interchange of products on equipment to optimise area flexibility in conjunction with validation personnel.

There will be special focus on safety particularly relating to equipment operation.

There will also be involvement in projects work in terms of new equipment selection, installation, commissioning and qualification in conjunction with existing projects and validation groups.

The ideal candidate will have a Process or Manufacturing Engineering qualification and will have worked in a production environment ideally in the pharmaceutical or a related industry. The candidate will also have proven experience of Trouble Shooting, development of and control of Electro/Mechanical, production, packaging and services equipment in the pharmaceutical, chemical, food or allied industries. Validation experience is also desirable.

Good report writing skills and a demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a self directed way are essential.
