Electronic Systems Engineer - ESA

Specific Responsibilities

This position will provide systems engineering expertise for CC-ESA in the area of electronic controls and telematics. This position will partner with controls engineering, product marketing, supply management and platform engineering functions in the development and sourcing of controls and telematics solutions. This position will lead or participate in activities such as supplier selection, technology evaluation, control system validation, project leadership and requirements development.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting product management with capturing of customer requirements. Support supply management with due diligence activities with suppliers and provide technical input in the supplier selection process. Assist existing suppliers with interpretation of IR requirements. Oversee supplier design activities and track issues with suppliers. Monitor supplier's progress on development projects.
  • Supporting global electronics engineering in developing electronic devices and controls. Ensure that devices meet identified needs, including performance, cost, timeliness, manufacturability, compliance, reliability, and other requirements for the ESA marketplace.
  • Track status of development projects in electronics throughout the ESA engineering centers and provides input to the global electronics team.
  • Identification of opportunities for reuse of existing control platforms used globally for the development of new controls or telematics solutions
  • Validation of requirements compliance for controls, telematics and accessory equipment that interfaces with refrigeration units
  • Assist telematics suppliers to interpret protocols and software development application interfaces as they develop software for interfacing telematics equipment to equipment. Providing assistance with hardware interface is also required.
  • Assist service department with technical expertise to troubleshoot and solve field problems.
  • Maintaining knowledge and understanding of the impact of relevant industry standards



Candidate Qualifications:
  • Candidates for this position will have an Electronic Engineer degree or equivalent.
  • They will have 7 or more years experience with a proven track record of accomplishment working in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated successful systems engineering expertise applied to the support of the product marketing and supply management is a plus.
  • This individual will be culturally sensitive and have a strong influencing ability combined with an analytical and commercially pragmatic approach.
  • They will show demonstrated experience in identifying the most critical high impact issues required to ensure timely delivery of services and products.
