Job description:  

The Company

World class employer with global network is seeking to recruit an experienced Customs Coordinator for their key Cork client. This standalone, responsible position requires previous experience in Shipping and Logistics, ideally with a strong working knowledge of import customs regulations in a number of different countries.

The Role

This is a pivotal compliance based role and involves on site account management of this customers international account

• Ensuring all areas of import customs clearance is compliant for this global customer
• Acting as a key liaison with the Revenue Commissioners to ensure compliance, Vat and Duty Tax is paid
• Project management as required for different logistics and supply chain activities
• Establish and maintain standard operating procedures
• Acting as the customs expert and key support for the logistics team based on site
• Reporting remotely to a Supply Chain Manager

The Person

• Must have strong Logistics experience, either in Sea, or Air and ideally from the Manufacturing, Electronics or Technology industry
• Proven ability to have worked in a role that required previous knowledge of customs procedures, a minimum of 3 years experience of import customs clearance
• Customer focussed team player with the ability to take ownership and responsibility for work load.
• Ideally a third level qualification in Foreign or International Trade
• Highly organised, ability to plan and prioritise
• Good analytical & numerical skills
• Self motivated with leadership and strong interpersonal skills
