Job description: My client is a young Irish owned company. Their core business is the development of products that slow the ageing process. The products will be sourced from both in-house R&D and in-licensing/acquisition activities. Based in Dublin they now have a senior vacancy for a Head of R&D Operations. Some international travel will be involved.

The Role:

This is a senior postion with hands-on responsibility for the product development operations of the company. Reporting to the Chief Executive and holds a key role within the core management team.

Plan & execute all product development activities from conception through to marketing approval.
Direct 3rd party contractors, consultants and service providers to deliver projects according to plan, formulation companies, manufacturers, clinical trial centres, therapeutic experts, regulatory advisors.
Build, develop and grow business relationships vital to the success of each project.
Play a key role in managing relationships with commercialization partners.
Act as primary company contact with regulators across all jurisdictions, together with their regulatory advisors.
Oversee quality assurance/control across all programs and activities.

Essential qualifications/experience:
3rd level science qualification and ideally further university or industry qualification.
At least 8-10 years experience in managing product development operations at a snr management level in pharmaceutical and consumer health OTC business.
Ability to think strategically and execute detailed action plans.
Excellent project management skills and ability to manage and direct multiple projects simultaneously.
Candidate should be familiar with applicable regulatory standards, rules and regulations for pharmaceutical and OTC products
Entrepreneurial, reliable, outcome-driven and collaborative, wtih the ability and desire to work as part of a small executive team.
