Job description: Information Systems Specialist / Analyst

In partnership with its client, Kenny-Whelan is currently seeking an Information Systems Specialist / Analyst to work for their client in the Co. Meath area. The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance and development of all the computer systems in conjunction with the IS Team.

Job Responsibilities:

• Development and maintenance of existing computer systems
• Development of new systems
• Maintain and support all computer software (including Minx, Unix, Windows, Exchange, Informix, SQL, Web applications, Video Vision) and any such systems that are purchased and developed in the future.
• Support, train and guide all system users in a timely manner.
• Coordinate and participate in IS projects as required to meet organizational demands.
• Provide support and assistance to the IS Manager, IS Project Coordinator and all functional managers.
• Ensure that all system procedures are followed in full.
• Ensure that the corporate objectives of customer satisfaction are achieved.
• Maintain contacts with software and hardware contractors as appropriate to the fulfilling of the contracts.
• Provide support to customers and suppliers where appropriate.
• Carry out projects and duties as assigned by your manager in an efficient, timely and cost effective manner.

Skills, Abilities and Education

• Educated to degree standard or equivalent in a computer science or related discipline.
• 3 + years experience (preferably in a manufacturing environment or other fast moving industry) including the role of IS Specialist and/or software/network analyst in a busy IS department.
• Experience with software development, supporting hardware and networks (PC's, Servers, RF, networks, printers, scanners etc.)
• Development Experience with Visual Studio, C#.Net, web development, ASP , SQL, database experience (SQL, Informix) and other technologies
• Ability to perform effectively both alone and as part of a project team.
• Must have flexible approach to work and be capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
• Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills and organisational skills.
• Ability to work with and empathise with colleagues and customers from varies cultures.
