My Client based in Limerick is a seeking SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE MODELING ENGINEER

Role:
*     Will include semiconductor device characterisation through lab measurements, followed by model generation.
*    The device models generated will then be adopted into a format which is usable by the circuit designers' simulation tools.
*    The role will also involve research into techniques of improving the accuracy of both new and existing model sets.

Responsibilities:
*    working closely with the process development group during the conception and run up of new semiconductor fabrication processes, this person needs to develop a very good understanding of the structure and performance characteristics of every device being offered by the new processes.
*    person will develop structures to enable him/her efficiently and accurately characterise devices when silicon becomes available.
*    With information gathered during characterisation this person will perform model extraction to generate an industry recognized model for each device type on offer on a process.
*    For more mature processes, this person will have to maintain strong communication links with process designers and circuit designers to ensure device models are continuously improved and adopted to the evolving needs of the circuit designers.
Skills:
*    A 3rd level degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics or Applied Physics.
*    A Masters in Engineering or previous experience in device characterisation and modeling is highly desirable.
*    A strong technical ability is essential with a good understanding of MOS and BJT device physics.
*    An ability to conduct research with the aim of applying the concepts learned, to technical challenges.
*    Excellent communication skills required with the emphasis on a strong ability to gain and share technical knowledge.
