manufacturing engineer

1. Lead cost reduction initiatives within the plant to improve the cost competetivness of the manufacturing facility.
2. Provide engineering supports for the manufacture of Truck & Trailer products to world-class standards, ensuring that products are built in the safest and most cost effective and efficient manner.
3. Co-ordinate the implementation of new product and processes into the plant, and implement major engineering changes into the manufacturing processes for existing product.
4. Map out future engineering value-adding developments and initiatives using 6 Sigma methodologies that will sustain and promote the competitive edge of our manufacturing facility.
5. Interface with production, quality, and the design engineering teams to ensure that the manufacturing engineering function is supporting the supply chain on an ongoing basis.
6. Provide the engineering support to lean manufacturing programmes, i.e. through process improvements, automation, product re-engineering and cost improvement initiatives.
7. Act as a resource, providing timely long term engineering solutions, while soliciting the ideas of others and using all available resources in the process.
