Oracle Database Administrator

The Database Administrator is a member of the IT/IS department. S/he will be responsible for the maintenance and development of Company's Databases. S/he will also require a good knowledge of Company's business processes in order to apply Business Applications to these processes. This role reports into the IT manager.

Job Responsibilities:
· Level 2 Technical Support (cover Level 1 support when required)
· Backup and Recovery of Databases.
· Instance Management.
· Space Management and Capacity Planning.
· Load/Performance Monitoring and Amendment.
· Troubleshooting and resolution of database issues - day-to-day maintenance.
· Apply Oracle patches to the databases.
· Enforce Database Security Policies.
· System Administration of Business Application Architecture.
· Documentation of processes and procedures.
· Any other duties as required.

· Database Management (Oracle).
· Project Management.
· Demonstrated ability to drive & solve technical issues through to completion.
· Excellent team player.
· Resourceful, self-educating and self-motivating.
· Strong organisation and time management skills.
· Works well under pressure.
· Excellent communication skills.
