Job description:  

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Financial Services for a Qualified Internal Audit Senior.

Responsibilities include:

• Determining the audit approach to the engagement.
• Designing appropriate procedures and audit programmes in line with the audit approach.
• Identifying key business and audit risks, identify relevant controls and develop appropriate testing methodologies.
• Taking responsibility for delivering work in line with engagement objectives and scope.
• Liaising with management to obtain relevant information in order to resolve any queries and to identify causes/risks on issues requiring further consideration.
• Ensure Head of Internal Audit/Internal Audit Manager are informed on a regular basis on the progress of the audit and relevant issues.
• Reporting on audit findings to the Head of Internal Audit/Internal Audit Manager and in particular raise any issues arising during the audit which may impact on risk.
• Preparing reports detailing issues found and recommending corrective and preventative actions to resolve them.
• Review the work of junior team members to ensure quality, thoroughness, completeness and completion of assignment tasks within agreed time frames.
• Work as an effective team member during an audit by communicating relevant issues, requesting feedback and coaching junior team members.

Personal Specification

Education/Professional Qualifications:

• A recognised University Degree or equivalent.
• Qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent from a recognised international accounting institution).

Experience Required:

• At least 3 years practice accounting experience in an accounting firm.
• Experience in managing audit engagements and audit teams.
• Experience of Financial Institutions is an advantage
• Exposure to Corporate Governance best practices, GAAP, IFRSA requirements, Risk Management, etc is also an advantage.
