Job description: Engineering Manager Function: To direct Plant Engineering Quality, Facilities and Environmental Activity Key Responsibilities · Provide direction and focus in the following areas: · Development and Implementation of Cost Reduction programs · Efficiency Improvements of equipment and people · Development and implementation of quality systems · Vendor Improvements in quality, cost and delivery · Test and Product Issues relating to high volume manufacturing · Qualification and/or Validation of high speed automated manufacturing lines · Calibration of on line equipment · Employee Health and Safety This position requires experience in the following areas: Project Management to tight deadlines Training and Development of Engineering Staff · Ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained · Ensuring resources are trained and able of tasks assigned to them · Determination of compensation levels amongst engineering staff. Engineering and Quality representative at Management reviews · Ensuring that reviews are held regularly · Ensuring that follow up actions are closed out New Product Introduction to strict customer criteria · Reporting on qualification results · Ensuring that products are qualified in line with customer requirements Preventive Maintenance and calibration of automated manufacturing equipment · Provision of defined process · Ensuring that process is followed · Responsibility for ensuring that all required equipment is calibrated · Provide Effective Management of Engineering / Engineering Support Staff · Allocation of responsibilities · Review f Engineering staff. · Promotion of 'Quality First' attitude amongst staff. · Management of Quality decisions always ensuring adherence to customer and regulatory requirements · Exposure to regulatory agencies and external bodies for audits and reviews as required by business need. · Knowledge of accident investigation and prevention · It is the Policy to ensure that recruitment to all positions within the company will mean that the best candidate for the job will be selected. Skills/Knowledge: · Engineering Degree with a minimum of 10 years relevant industrial experience · Experience of high volume manufacturing processes · Experience in plant start up from 'Green Field' to full manufacturing · Excellent motivational / interpersonal skills · General management ability · Excellent customer management skills · Knowledge of customer and regulatory requirements in line with business need
