Our client a leading medical device company are now actively recruiting for a STRATEGIC SOURCING LEAD . This is a full time permanent role reporting to the International Operations Director.
The Role:
Be the primary resource within operations responsible for SC strategy development & deployment. Lead cross-functional teams to establish the overall SC strategy, associated commodity strategies and implement same by commodity. Identify and implement sources of supply for the company to meet cost, quality and availability requirements.
Establish Supplier Management routines to support commodity strategy development, supplier selection, supplier development and supplier integration.
Responsibilities:
Accountable for leading the development of the overall SC strategy for business in conjunction with the International Operations Director.
Accountable for working with the relevant cross functional teams to ensure the development of commodity strategy for core commodities (controllers, garments, electrodes, cables/psus, packaging).
Accountable for understanding the marketplace, identifying and selecting suppliers in support of agreed commodity strategies.
Responsible for leading and institutionalising procurement process & tool improvements for key suppliers, such as three - year supplier strategic and capacity plans, value chain analysis, logistics optimisation, return programs etc. To be accomplished in conjunction with relevant SC sustaining owner.
Qualifications/Experience:
Candidate must have a 3rd level business and / or technical qualification to Degree level. Masters would be an advantage.
Candidate should have 15 + years of increasing responsibility in the areas of procurement/materials management, engineering, manufacturing/operations.
Must have applicable commodity management experience ideally in electronics/electro mechanical related commodities preferably in the Medical Device or High Tech Electronic Industry.
