Computer Security Engineer
Our Client are a Fortune 1000 company, seeking a Security Engineer to support security operations for over 100 locations around the world from their location in Athlone, Ireland.
This position will include working as part of our Global Network & Security Operations Team, which is responsible for managing the day to day security operations, identifying opportunities, and implementing change to support business objectives. You must be capable of developing project plans, prioritizing projects and identifying common strategies for multiple locations.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
· Supporting security management, project analysis, project definition, and process improvement activities for all locations.
- Integrating into a global team, with 24x7x365 world-class customer service as the top priority.
- Supporting the organization in security management to support the global locations.
- Preparing and managing project plans and budgets that satisfy the identified business purpose.
- Developing effective processes and models for global user support
- Identifying and evaluating new and emerging technologies to be introduced to improve marketplace competitiveness and customer service levels
- Helping to develop, implement, and maintain a set of standard operating procedures with respect to the security function.
- Engaging with business locations to help prioritize projects for quick response and execution.
- Working in a team environment to support implementations, including communications and ownership required to complete projects successfully.
- Practicing effective decision making and conflict management to keep deliverables on schedule.
- Interpreting detail requirements and translating into solution requirements.
- Communicating project(s) status to appropriate stakeholders.
- Working to insure security of a business unit is aligned with that of the corporation
Qualified candidate should have experience leading technology initiatives for a multi-location organization; have user support experience; be able to convincingly present new technology initiatives, work in a team environment and be able to easily adjust from project to project on demand. Real hands-on experience in leading the installation and configuration of Checkpoint NGX Firewalls, CCSE, Checkpoint Provider-1 MDS Management and MLM Logging Server experience a must. Candidate should also possess experience in creating and managing VPN's built on the Checkpoint platform, strong TCP/IP networking / BGP Routing experience, expert knowledge in Sun Solaris 7 or 8 and working knowledge of Windows Server platform and of IDS Sensors (preferably ISS) along with being conversant in Encryption & Authentication. The ability to work in a 24/7 On-Call environment is also a must.
Desirable experience would include but not be limited to:
- CISSP & CCNA certifications.
- Cisco Switch and Router configuration and Maintenance
- Advanced Routing protocols
- PKI experience
- Experience working in a multinational support organization
- Multi-language skills (especially German, French or Spanish)
