QC Analysts Required - 2 year fixed term contract

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

1. Scientific / Technical:

· Under direction, perform analytical work on raw materials, intermediate and finished products using standard procedures, ensuring all work is completed to an agreed schedule.

· Maintain comprehensive record of own work.

· Collate and review analytical paperwork and pass onto QC Manager or designee with appropriate observations, comments and recommendations.

· Ensure compliance with Regulatory, GMP / GLP requirements.

· Assist in the documentation of specifications, test methods and QC procedures.

· Following discussion with QC Manager or designee, plan, design and execute own work programme.

· Attain specific goals / targets agreed with QC Manager / designee.

· Demonstrate good scientific judgement and initiative in achievement of defined objectives. Identify problems, bring possible solutions of problems to the QC Manager or designee and propose possible future course of action.

· Obtain knowledge and experience of a wide range of analytical techniques.

· As a team member, ensure that the lab is adequately equipped and stocked to run efficiently, all equipment is maintained and all necessary calibrations are performed.

· May have responsibilities for the analytical content development programmes.

· Following discussion with QC Manager, may be responsible for development / validation of new methods, processes or procedures.

2. Quality

· To perform all laboratory operations in accordance with current Good Laboratory Practice and Good Manufacturing Practice.

3. Housekeeping

· To maintain your place of work in a clean and tidy state at all times during laboratory activities.

4. Training:

· To participate in all training and assessment activities. To participate in all SOP training and assessment related to your job.

· To attend all training courses (internal and external), seminars as required for training related to your job.

· In conjunction with your QC Manager or designee to ensure all training and assessment is recorded and signed for on your individual Training Record.

5. Safety

· To adhere fully to all safety policies, procedures and regulations.

· To ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner and any relevant company or environmental legislation is adhered to.

· To immediately notify the appropriate responsible person if you observe a breach of policy, procedure, regulation or potential hazard that could have a serious impact on safety or result in serious personal injury to an individual on site.

· To complete Accident report / Near Miss Forms in a timely manner after an event.

6. Requirements

· A degree in analytical science or another related science discipline is essential.
