In partnership with its client Manpower is currently seeking an IT Administrator

The client: My client is a blue chip company with significant staff retention and excellent career progression, the client offers an exciting and challenging work environment. The role is based in Dublin City Centre

Description: The post-holder will have significant experience in administering a large network covering all aspects from design through installation and support, implementing industry standard best practices. The post-holder is expected to have sound technical knowledge and skills and be logical and organised. They must be able to work as part of a multi-discipline team and be able to provide a high quality professional service in a dynamic business environment.

Duties:

· The maintenance of the voice and data systems in use throughout the organisation

· Capacity planning

· Installations / upgrades and patching as required.

· Working closely with specialist suppliers where required to maintain the integrity of the network.

· Document and maintain fully documented system.

· Transfer knowledge to the Service Desk team.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

· Minimum 6 years experience for Senior Systems Administrator.

Personal skills will include:

· Strong self-motivation, work ethic with 'can do' attitude.

· Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work around issues and be creative as regards problem solving.

· Must be dependable & flexible and willing to work independently or as part of a team.

· Good documentation skills.

As a Systems Administrator, be able to:

· Configure all server hardware from delivery to OS install including drive arrays and controllers. Install SAN hardware and physically connect servers to SAN drives, and all peripherals including backup hardware. OS install and full domain configuration on OS Levels 2000/2003.

· Patch and upgrade OS and Applications as required including Anti-virus solutions.

· Manage Exchange environment.

· Manage backup services across WAN and perform basic data restores.

· Perform capacity planning and provide pro-active advice on disk, data and user capacity.

· Be able to manage standard Firewall configurations.

· Provide basic telephony systems management

· Manage all external support companies to full resolution of problems, escalating as necessary and taking responsibility for all decisions throughout.

In addition to the above, as a Senior Systems Administrator be able to:

· Design a domain including user, group and security policies, and full implementation. Configure and manage SAN environment.

· Backup design and management and able to recover any server from tape to new hardware and configure for use.

· Design and implement a secure Firewall solution including backup and recovery of configurations.

· Be able to design from 'Greenfield' an IP network with subnets. Be able to integrate new networks with existing networks. Be able to design LAN and VLAN topologies and be able to configure switches and routers to facilitate function of the design. Be able perform full traffic analysis and fault find as necessary.

· Be able to troubleshoot all infrastructure and network problems to clear diagnosis and resolve any issues within this scope.

· Evaluate new technologies and provide advice on beneficial products.

· Experience managing a team of administrators

Specialist Skills should include some of the following:

· SQL database management and database application support.

· Advanced telephony systems management.

· Be able to project manage all infrastructural type projects in initiation to completion, including planning and execution of physical installs into racks, cabling and power provision covering specification of UPS requirements, and full costing and time analysis.

Qualifications:

· Degree in Computer Science or relevant professional qualifications

· Mcse 2000/2003 Exchange 2003

· Microsoft Exchange 2003.
