Project Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To manage customer product development briefs/projects received from sales personnel or directly from the customer.
To communicate with cross-functional teams in relation to product development within the business.
Developing and maintaining business with existing and new customers working in conjunction with the sales team by developing innovative cooked meat products.Providing a technical service and technical support to company customers

MAIN DUTIES:

- Managing concept development brief through to launch.
- Liaising directly with customer and obtaining all project details
- Initiate and commence a Work in Progress file
- Record all information in relation to samples dispatched or correspondence to the customer
- Clear communication with cross functional teams within the business
- Working with Food Technologist and Food Technician and Process Development within group
- Completion of development brief to technologist
- Agreeing and organising of process and procedure, chemical analysis etc to be completed for trial.
- Organising trials with planning department.
- Agreeing time scale for completion of trial
- Completion of product costings.
- Overseeing of pre- production and 1^st 5 production runs of new product
- Liaison with quality and production departments with new product launches
- Organising and scaling up of pre production runs
Ordering of raw materials, casings etc
Generation of feedstock code
Generation of on floor paper work
- Customer Product Specification
Briefing of technical draft specification to specifications manager
Completion of Process Information for new product launches (Product Codes, Formulations, On Floor Specs. etc.). Co ordination of new product launches in group.Liaising with all relevant departments to ensure smooth handover of all company products to the factory
- Co ordination of Customer Product Presentations.
- Coordination of all Food Intolerance Data/ Food Alert Data
- Market/food Legislation
- Product Development Appreciation Sessions
- Assisting other team members, when necessary

THE CANDIDATE

Knowledge and Experience:

· Minimum of 3 years experience in Food Technology
· Previous experience managing individual clients / projects
· Must be computer literate - access

Qualifications:

• Food Science degree
