Job description: Manufacturing Engineer Job Description: The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering support to manufacturing, and the development of existing and new process technologies. He/She will report to the manufacturing team leader in the Design Services group Job Responsibilities: · Work as part of production support team to drive product and process improvements. · Identify and develop existing processes, using a Lean six sigma engineering methodology · Implements improvements to processes to increase key productivity and Quality, through effective analysis of system problems and identification of root causes. · Investigates state-of-the-art process technologies and evaluates potential competitive advantage and the cost benefit of introduction. · Delivers and validates new process technologies and products to the manufacturing process. · Deliver and complete new product Introductions from other manufacturing sites to manufacturing at Parkmore Galway · Manages a variable workload to meet operational and project commitments. · Identifies and implements short and long term cost reduction improvement initiatives through the adoption of Lean Manufacturing and six sigma initiatives. · Responsibility for day-to-day manufacturing support by managing the overall equipment performance and addressing operational needs. Key Requirements: · Engineering degree, or equivalent qualification, with 3yrs+ experience. · Mechanical Engineering degree, or equivalent qualification. · Knowledge of six sigma and lean engineering principle would be a distinct advantage · Strong technical background and capabilities, specifically with 3D cad drafting knowledge. · Experience of mechanical design for manufacturing automation · Process validation experience · Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills. · Motivated to work on own initiative. · Ability to travel
