Job description: At RICHMOND RECRUITMENT our client is looking to recruit a Senior Software Engineer.

Manage the source code, documentation, and build related artefacts (development through to release). Documentation of the build systems & process. Problem identification and resolution relating to build issues. Configure, maintain and administer version control tools such as CVS, Subversion and CHARM. Administration of tools used in Build and Release process. Write scripts to automate the build processes where possible including email notification for build completion and errors. Via version control tool, perform branching, merging and manage multiple releases of multiple products Develop and maintain release control process. Initiating improvements where necessary. Maintain technical documentation repositories for multiple products/projects Work with Environment Architect and Development Managers to establish & implement a structured & documented cross work stream.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Qualification : Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.

Experience : Minimum of 8 years relevant experience.

Essential Skills : Experience with HTML, client/server database software, and a programming language such as Java. Solid Unix scripting skills. Knowledge of various hardware platforms (mainframe, client/server, distributed), database technologies and data warehouses.

Desirable Skills : Experience with Kintana tools, Mercury ITG, Subversion, Visual Source Safe, PVCS-Dimensions, Perl Scripting on Unix and Windows
