Cost Accountant
Our Client is a leading innovation and solutions provider for the major global markets of Industrial Solutions, Infrastructure, Security and Safety and Climate Control. Climate Control provides products that keep foods fresh throughout the cold chain, from farm to fork.
We are currently recruiting for a Cost Accountant in Galway, Ireland
Responsibilities include:
Operate and maintain standard costing systems and detailed analysis and reporting systems for all standard cost variances for Galway, to include changes required as a result of significant material cost changes and changes to bills of material as required.

  • Operate and maintain inventory accounting and control systems for Galway and Shannon, including cycle count and annual count processes and ensure adherence of inventory accounting procedures to company policies and GAAP.
  • Provide product cost and margin information to management in Galway, including cost comparisons, new product cost models and productivity and cost reduction impacts
  • Actively support cost awareness/reduction programmes within Galway Plant, to drive increased cost competitiveness across all parts of the business. Provide support to development of cost targets and cost ownership for all Operations departments. Management of programmes to ensure cost targets are achieved, identification of outsourcing and restructuring opportunities and development of financial models to evaluate opportunities
  • Provide support to Management Accountant in preparation of reports, forecasts and plans. Through teamwork, ensure that absence cover is provided to Management Accountant from within Costing team.
  • The Costing team comprises members with differing backgrounds, experience and skills - the strength of the team lies in the effective combination of these. Team members are expected to provide support, coaching, training and guidance for each other and the Financial Analyst as required.

The successful candidate will meet the following requirements
Professional accounting qualification (eg CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or/and business diploma/degree.
  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience in industry.
  • Knowledge of Oracle a strong advantage.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Excel is desired
