Quality Engineer


Main Duties:

  • Full responsibility for the quality system lifecycle of a selected range of product groups.
  • Attendance at start-up daily meetings - daily liaise with QCs on their respective product ranges
  • On line monitoring of product quality (daily basis)
  • Review DMR Trends with Cells.
  • Work with the QC Supervisor to provide limit samples for manufacturing as required.
  • Assist in implementing or updating of Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Writing of test protocols for validations associated with their product range and assisting process engineer in the timely execution of same as well as completion of associated change control to transfer products/processes to plant.. Specific QE will: Update and maintain MVP and index. Issue Validation numbers to plant personnel.
  • Implementation of effective corrective and preventive action programmes to improve product quality and output. Provide assistance to the Champion of CAPA and relevant manager(s) in relation to the required content of CAPA file (where necessary). Ensure that root cause meetings are held and documented in timely fashion. Assist with the completion of action items with Champion/CAPA Team. Carry out effectiveness checks associated with product group responsibility where required. Specific QE will organise monthly CAPA meetings, maintain meeting minutes and issue CAPA's.
  • Scrap analysis, trending and implementation of associated yield improvement programmes
  • Assist QC for complaints in terms of failure investigation on more complex complaints. Feedback customer complaint data to cells.
  • Act as 'product expert' for the range of products that they have responsibility for and ensure that all QCs, Machine Setters, Training Instructors and Supervisors have adequate training on quality aspects of these products.
  • Approval of relevant Device Master Records.
  • Internal auditing within the plant to include auditing of new methods/critical
    operations etc
  • On line trouble shooting
  • Development of risk assessments/ Process FMEAs for their product range
  • Has authority and organisational freedom to stop non-conforming product and
    prevent further processing should the need arise liaising with their Supervisor
    or Quality Manager to this extent should a dispute/disagreement arise
  • Complete project work as required by Supervisor or other Management
    Personnel.
  • Specific QE will issue Concession Training on a monthly basis - make recommendations for entry into CAPA system or processes which should be reviewed for re-validation based on unfavourable concession trends.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Company and Corporate requirements and legislation governing health and safety as principally contained in the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 1993


    Personnel Specification:

    Education: A degree in Quality, Science or Engineering discipline is essential requirement for this position. Good presentation skills to conduct training and presentations.


    Experience: Minimum of 3 - 4 years relevant experience.
