Inventory Controller

The position will pay a central role in the overall management and control of inventory. The person will work closely with the Warehouse, Business Information Systems, Operations and Finance teams to ensure requisite standards of internal control and management of inventory. This role will report to the Logistics Optimisation Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure inventory cycle count program is executed according to company requirements.
  • Coordinate cycle count activities with warehouse, operations and finance functions
  • Drive new control methods and measures to monitor inventory accuracy
  • Ensure key reports including 999 and Warehouse Management System reports are maintained current
  • Perform monthly reconciliation between SAP and Warehouse Management System and ensure differences are dispositioned timely
  • Compile monthly reporting metrics for inventory accuracy and performance of inventory reporting systems
  • Preparation for, and management of, internal and external audit reviews
    · Participation in identifying the direction and future strategy on the inventory process
  • Participate/lead a cross functional team to analyse root cause problem solve these issues


Skill Requirements/Competencies:
  • Experience in MS applications: Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated track record of continuous improvement
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels in a confidential and professional manner
  • Demonstrate good project management skills and the ability to influence and direct others.
  • Ability to schedule and plan activities for other associates, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data being presented for sign off.
  • Demonstrate a methodical, transparent and organized approach to task completion
  • Good problem solving/root cause analysis mindset


Education/Professional Experience:
  • Experience with SAP and Warehouse Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of automated warehouse systems: WMS
  • Detailed knowledge of inventory management systems
  • Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain/Finance/Business Studies or other related field would be an advantage
