Job description:  My client is a public company, specialising in the development, manufacture and marketing of clinical diagnostic products and a leader in the industry in Ireland.

My prestigious client is seeking to appoint a Business Analyst to further develop the Business Solutions offering within the Information Services Department. Based in Bray head office in Ireland, and reporting to the Business Architect, this business focused role will require experience of business process modelling in the definition and delivery of enterprise application and information architectures.

The successful candidate will come from a strong business analysis background and will ideally currently fill the role of business analyst or will come from a senior business/customer oriented role responsible for process definition and modelling within a department who is looking to develop their career/apply their knowledge, into other areas of a business. Excellent written/verbal communication skills and the ability to deal at all levels of an organisation are essential.

Experience working in the medical diagnostic industry would be a distinct advantage to the role however the key experience is strong understanding of organisational dynamics, cross functional business process and organisation behavioural characteristics.

Main responsibilities:

• Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
• Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
• Ability to size and scope vague requirements into a practical work solution/work package
• Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following, using natural language, as required: conceptual business process designs, functional/user, screen and interface designs
• Utilize your knowledge & experience of management systems (existing & other) and best practice methodologies
• Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
• Work independently with users to define concepts and under direction of business architect/project managers
• Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
• Serve as the conduit between the customer community and the ISD business solutions team (be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams)
• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs

Minimum qualifications/experience:

• Primary degree in Information Technology or Business Studies.
• A minimum of 3+ years Data and Process Modelling experience

• Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts. Must be comfortable moving between business and technical discussions.
• Strong MS Visio & MS Powerpoint technical skills
• Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred
• BPMN
