My client is looking for a QA Engineer. The successful candidate will be required to participate in the quality assurance testing of software applications. The applications are mainly Windows-based, with occasional requirement to test Linux-based applications. Primary responsibilities centre around hands-on testing of software, coordinating software releases, assessing and using test tools, implementing and improving standards, processes and best practices.

Key Requirements and Competencies:

  • Creating and executing test plans
  • White and black box testing
  • Functional testing
  • Integration and regression testing
  • Load and stress testing
  • User interface testing
  • Creating, tracking and resolving bug reports
  • Active participation in project development life cycle, from design to QA release
  • Ensuring the quality of software
  • Defining and contributing to new and existing standards and processes
  • Refine and improve functional, regression, robustness and performance testing
  • Estimating test time
  • Provide 3rd level support


  • The successful candidate will have minimum 2 years experience testing software, with emphasis on client/server or web based environments
  • Ability to work on own initiative individually and as part of a team
  • Strong communicator, both verbal and written
  • Ability to devise, describe and implement innovative and exhaustive tests
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows XP, 2003 Server, Windows 7, Windows 2008 Server
  • Strong T-SQL skills and knowledge of SQL Server 2000, 2008
  • Familiarity with bug tracking software


  • Educated to degree level.
