Technical Sales Person

The Job

With a strong customer base within the blue-chip manufacturing companies in the Irish Medical Devices, Paper Converting, Building Products, Food & Drink, ICT, and Pharmaceutical sectors you will drive increased market penetration and sales in all segments.
You will identify sales opportunities in agreed regions or sectors and will successfully promote products, solutions and services to target customers.
You will provide pre sales and post sales technical support to the Irish customer base.
You will become knowledgeable on customer applications of products across the total product portfolio, and become the customer applications expert in specific products or market segments.
You will identify opportunities for consulting and engineering services and support the relevant teams to convert such opportunities into profitable successful projects.
You will generate necessary sales contact reports, sales plans, competitor intelligence reports etc.
You will assist in implementing effective market communications in order to raise awareness of the brand, products and services in Ireland.
You will work with General and Sales management to develop and implement an effective Sales and Marketing plan for the Irish Sales operation covering all 32 counties.
The Products

You will be responsible for sales of the product portfolio, which comprises of:

Safety Sensors and actuators

• Safety Relays
• Programmable Safety Systems
• Motion Control Products
• Human Machine Interface (HMI) / Graphic Interface panels

The Services:
You will support the continued business development of our consulting and engineering services, which include:

Proces Safety Services

• Machinery Safety Services
• Health and Safety Management Services

Candidate profile

• You will be a successful sales executive with experience in selling products and services to large End User customers within the manufacturing sector as well as to the automation system integrators and machine builders supplying this sector with capital equipment.
• You will have awareness of Industrial Automation technology such as Programmable Logic Controllers, Control Switchgear, Safety Relays, Distributed Control Systems, Safe Automation Systems and PC based control systems.
• The ideal candidate will be familiar with regulations and standards impacting relating to Health and Safety in industrial workplaces

• A third level qualification in a related electrical/electronic engineering or a control & instrumentation discipline is required.
• A post graduate business or commercial related qualification is a distinct advantage

Location
The preferred candidate may live in, or relocate to, a location which provides good geographical access to target markets and customers or the customer sites. Alternatively the selected candidate may be based in our Cork headquarters.
To be successful in the environment, the selected candidate will be dependable, reliable and will be a person with a high level of integrity and drive.
The candidate will be required to co-operatively support all customers. The necessary Information Telecommunications technology will be used to distribute the technical support workload with Engineers based in our Cork Headquarters.
Training
Tailored training programmes will be developed for the successful candidate to ensure he/she gains the competencies required to be successful in the assignment
