Workshop Engineer - Dublin, Ireland

Job description As Workshop Engineer, you will provide accuracy and professional standard of field service deliverables (i.e. problem solving and quality of work) as well as compliance with Health and Safety legislation, QA and other Company procedures at all times.

1. To assist with all work being carried out in the workshop.
2. Close liaison with Senior Workshop Engineer and General Manager as appropriate to ensure jobs are kept within budget and specified delivery schedule.
3. Cleaning of engine parts prior to overhaul
4. Pressure testing coolers
5. Dismantling / reassembly of cylinder heads, oil pumps, water pumps
6. Inspection & calibration of cylinder head components, pistons, connecting rods
7. Honing of cylinder liners
8. Packing and strapping parts for despatch to ships
Responsibilities 1. To ensure ISO 9000 standards are maintained in and around the workshop.
2. To ensure that all activities in the workshop are carried out in accordance with the site safety rules and in compliance with the Companys Health and Safety obligations.
3. To ensure that all workshop tools are stored in their allocated areas.
4. Advise the Senior Workshop Engineer of tools and consumable requirements.
5. Be responsible for general cleanliness and well being of the workplace.
6. In addition to the above duties and responsibilities, the post holder must be prepared to undertake such additional duties which may result from changing circumstances, but which may not of necessity, change the general character or level of responsibility of the post
Requirements You will ideally have served a recognised engineering apprenticeship, preferably with an engineering/marine background with machining, i.e. lathe, horizontal boring machine.

A forklift licence would be an advantage.

This role requires someone with good communication and customer relation skills along with the ability to self manage and work as a team.
