Job description: Senior Planner Implement a planning and control process which creates and maintains a detailed production schedule, including an effective communication mechanism for managing manufacturing priorities. This position will report into the Supply Chain Manager and is based in our Parkmore facility. Job Responsibilities: · Implement a master scheduling process with mechanisms for matching incoming orders to forecasts, handling abnormal demands, and making reliable delivery commitments to Customers. · Identify and implement most effective daily planning model for the business supported by control processes to communicate valid manufacturing priorities to the shop floor, and minimise WIP levels. · Work closely with Production, Engineering and other relevant functions to ensure a capacity planning process is used to measure and manage manufacturing requirements, work throughput and queue levels. · Implement a Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process that maintains a valid, current operating plan in support of customer requirements and the business plan. · Analysing MPS forecast versus actual to avoid material shortages due to under forecasting and unnecessary inventory holding due to over-forecasting. · Ensuring purchasing activities required to support the MPS are communicated to the relevant people on a timely basis. · Liaising closely with other relevant functions to ensure the planning and control process is supported by a well structured, accurate set of BOMs, including a maintenance process to maintain routing accuracy. · Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement to monitor progress of the function, including drafting of, and training people on necessary supporting procedures Key Requirements: · Minimum 5 years planning experience. · Third level qualification at Diploma/Degree level and or IPICS is required. · Experience in an ERP environment essential, Oracle knowledge an advantage. · Computer literate, MS Excel, PowerPoint & Word. · Strong Communication & Interpersonal skills. · Ability to work on own initiative. · Strong Analytical & Problem Solving skills. · Demonstrated capability in delivering targets in a result based environment.
