Practice Development Sister/Charge Nurse

General Surgery and Orthopaedic floors

Kate Cowhig International Recruitment in partnership with their client are seeking a Practice Development Sister/Charge Nurse. This Hospital continues to invest in state-of-the-art facilities, departments and medical teams. The hospital has four operating theatres including two purpose built theatres for orthopaedics, each equipped with 'laminar flow' clean air system to minimise the risk of post operative infections. A high dependency/intensive care unit, staffed by a specialist team of nurses, is also available for post-surgery recovery if required.

Role:

The Practice Development Sister/Charge Nurse is responsible for developing nursing practice and support the professional development of nursing staff across the general surgery and Orthopaedic floors; this will include developing individual learning plans with staff and acting as a mentor and role model to nursing staff using evidenced based best practices to ensure highest level of nursing standards are upheld.

The post holder will assist the ward manager in training needs analysis and ensuring ward staff are competent and fit for practice.

Requirements:

· Registered Nurse, Level 1 with current NMC Professional Registration

· 5 years post registration experience, with evidence of teaching experience

· ENB Certificates 100, 998, 254, 249 or equivalent surgical and Orthopaedic experience

· Evidence of first line Management Training

· Degree in relevant subject area

· Nursing Mentorship Course

· Relevant teaching qualification desired
