Fund Accountant - Graduate Opportunity
(Permanent Position)

Would you like to start a career in funds?

One of Europe's leading providers of 3rd party services to the life assurance industry is now seeking to employ a  graduate Fund accountant.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team of fund accountants that fully services the investment portfolios of  client companies.



The Job:

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Valuing the funds in an accurate and timely manner and publication of Net Asset Values (NAVS)
  • Placing trades with international fund managers in accordance with the advice of the clients asset allocation advisers.
  • Purchasing and selling foreign currencies in a manner approved by the client.
  • Treasury management of cash pending investment.
  • Recording all fund transactions in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Producing monthly accounts and other data for financial and statutory returns.
  • Liaising with the clients and international fund managers and banks on a daily basis.
  • Utilising the firm's technology solutions to efficiently and effectively manage client enquiries.

Comprehensive induction training and ongoing training will be provided by both internal and external trainers. Joining a team of top graduates, this is an excellent developmental opportunity and full study support will be provided for the pursuit of a professional accountancy qualification.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have an excellent academic record, the ability to work in a fast-moving environment and the interpersonal skills required to interact with clients and international financial institutions.

Qualifications:

  • Strong aptitude for numbers and accuracy and a high degree of analytical and problem solving ability.
  • 2.1 or first class honours degree in a relevant discipline such a Commerce, Business studies, Economics or Maths.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines.
  • An organised and systematic approach to their job.
  • A strong customer service orientation.
  • Knowledge of a European language, particularly Italian, would be advantageous but not essential.
  • NAV experience would be a distinct advantage.
