An opportunity exists for a Safety Engineer in the Environmental Health & Safety department within a leading multinational in Cork.

Duties & Responsibilities

Lead site safety initiatives to promote the safety culture on the site with a view to an incident and
injury free workplace.

Proactively drive and encourage colleague engagement in health and safety activities.

Lead and participate in Process Teams to effectively contribute to achieving agreed team goals.

Take full responsibility to ensure effective reporting, investigation, tracking and close-out of all site
accidents, incidents and near misses.

Prepare Safety Reports / Metrics; identify incident/accident trends and co-ordinate programmes to improve site safety performance.

Identify safety training needs and co-ordinate specific safety programmes in conjunction with customer requirements.

Support Site Cost Initiatives

Ensure site safety systems and procedures are in compliance with best practices, regulatory (e.g. HSA) and legal requirements.

Supporting the site Hazop and FMEA programme by contributing to these studies to ensure the highest standards are maintained.

Knowledge & Experience Required
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in an appropriate science or engineering discipline
and/or relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical industry. In addition candidates will have a proven record of
achievement in the areas of leadership, interpersonal and communication abilities, organizational skills and
innovative thinking.
