Position Title: Supervising Bridge Engineer (Rehabilitation, Design or Special Projects)

Position purpose
The Supervising Bridge Engineer in the Engineering Technology Branch leads a team of project engineers responsible for the provision of bridge rehabilitation design projects undeclientken internally and externally and for providing design advisory services on rehabilitation in order to achieve durable high performance bridge products and minimise technical risk.
Key accountabilities
· Manage a team of project engineers and external consultants in the efficient and timely delivery of bridge and structural designs by providing technical leadership and advice.
· Contribute to the management of clients technical risk in bridge engineering by identifying and developing improved solutions and practices, providing expert technical advice during design and construction and contributing to the development of technical policies, standards and specifications and design reviews.
· Contribute to the client by being an informed purchaser of bridge engineering products and services by undeclientking review, audit, review, and assessment activities.
· Identify, initiate and facilitate research and development (R&D) needs in rehabilitation design by managing R&D projects.
· Assist the Senior Bridge Engineer (Rehabilitation Design) with the development of current and future employee capabilities in bridge engineering by providing training and assisting in developing and presenting professional seminars and knowledge transfer.
· Promote continuous improvement by providing specialist advice to the bridge community on innovative bridge technologies and bridge design practices.
