Graduate Software Test Engineer (perm) 27K
We are seeking a competent and dynamic software test engineer for our new generation of PC software applications.
The Job
You will be responsible for software testing OO applications and tools developed in Java and/or C++.
From concept stage of a project lifecycle you will:
Ø Act as an expert in your specific product area
Ø Provide support and direction to development and test engineers
Ø Demonstrate application of different testing types used within the Software Development Lifecycle
Ø Evaluate requirements from a test impact perspective
Ø Write project test cases ensuring sufficient clarity and detail to allow any other test engineer execute the test cases.
Ø Devise, conduct and analyse the results of software tests
Ø Raise and progress problem reports with development
Ø Ensure timely completion of all testing tasks in line with project timelines
Ø Create and implement automation tests
Ø Work within our client's Software Quality System and participate in Process Improvement Activities
Candidate profile
You will have 0 - 1 years experience working as a Software Test Engineer with proven software test responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have worked on a range of complex projects with team sizes ranging from small in-house development teams to large cross-functional teams.
Knowledge and experience of the following are desirable:
Ø ISEB Foundation Certification
Ø Test Tools: HP Quality Centre and HP Quick Test Professional
Ø Test scripting experience (VB, Perl, Python)
You should have experience of some of the following technologies:
Ø Setup and configuration of hardware devices
Ø Networking
Ø Databases
Ø Unified Modeling Language (UML)
