The Bridge Engineer (Construction Practice) in the Engineering Technology Branch leads a team of project engineers responsible for improving bridge construction practice including developing best practice guidelines and introduction of processes in order to improve the bridge design-construction interface.
Responsibilities:
· Manage a team of project engineers, and external consultants in the effective and timely delivery of bridge construction reviews by providing technical leadership and advice particularly in the design-construction phase.
· Contribute to the management of CLIENT technical risk in bridge engineering by identifying and developing improved solutions and practices, providing expert technical advice and contributing to the development of technical policies, standards and specifications.
· Contribute to the CLIENT being an informed purchaser of bridge engineering products and services by undeclientking audit, review, and assessment activities.
· Identify, initiate and facilitate research and development (R&D) needs in bridge design-construction interface through the management of R&D projects.
· Assist the Senior Bridge Engineer (Technology & Practice) with the development of current and future employee capabilities in bridge engineering by providing design and construction practice related training, assisting in developing and presenting professional seminars and knowledge transfer.
- Promote continuous improvement by providing specialist advice to the bridge community on innovative bridge technologies and construction practices.
Requirements:
- A four year civil engineering degree.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
