Job Title: Environmental Officer
Reporting to: Technical Manager
Purpose of the Role: To work as part of the Technical team in the maintenance and operation of the Environmental Management system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• To coordinate the administrative and day to day requirements of the Environmental Management system. • To maintain and coordinate all IPPC License requirements such as: ? EPA Reports ? AER Data collection and reports. ? Ensure all non conformances across all sites are acted upon as required. ? Maintain EPA files. ? Carryout site inspections ? Ensure that all environmental monitoring requirements are carried out as specified.
• To maintain the ISO 14001 environmental management system. ? Internal Audits & External audits. ? Maintenance of Environmental manual & updating of procedures ? Carryout and review risk assessments and ensure implementation of control measures. ? Implement corrective actions resulting from Non-conformances. ? Support development of ISO 14001 at all sites
• Coordination of Waste Management across all sites. ? Data collection control of records. ? Removal of Waste from site. ? Control of TFS's etc. ? Documentation control e.g. C1 forms etc. • To provide technical support for the environmental management systems at all group wide facilities. • May be required to carryout other tasks within the Technical Department as required.
Education / Experience • Third level qualification in Environmental Science/Management and or equivalent. • Preferably 3-5 years relevant work experience • Experience of working with the EPA or similar environmental regulatory body • IPPC licence applications/management experience is desirable • Experience in ISO 14001 or equivalent environmental management system • Excellent report writing skills • Computer literacy essential - MS Word and Excel particularly
